Hi Team!
If anyone is interested in joining a football-related seminar next week, I might have something for you. On Friday, 28 November 2025 (12:30–17:00), the Goethe-Institut Finland in Helsinki is hosting an intercultural seminar on football culture and history in Germany and Finland (see program below).
The event, held in German and English, explores how football shapes identities and societies, with perspectives from research, media, and practice. Topics include German football culture from a Finnish viewpoint, the development of women’s football, fan cultures in East Germany, personal perspectives on German football, and the connections between football, language, and multilingualism.
Fun fact: I was asked to moderate the seminar :D Here’s the information (and registration link): https://www.goethe.de/ins/fi/de/spr/unt/ver.cfm?event_id=26654675 Maybe see you there!
Cheers,
Ewald
